LiteracyLens · Revised release guidance
Reports with
their evidence in view.
Revised reporting guidance for the forthcoming native release. Obtain an actual export sample before building an integration.
Describe the records that contributed.
The following reporting policy is specified for the revised build and remains subject to acceptance testing. It replaces the old demo’s percentages, overall categories and score-based priority thresholds.
Only Partially Evident (1), Clearly Evident (2) and Consistently Evident (3) are numerical indicator decisions. Category labels belong to indicators; a mean must not become an overall teacher-quality badge.
For each eligible completed live walkthrough, average its active scored indicators within a domain. For teacher, grade or school domain summaries, give each eligible walkthrough-domain mean equal weight. Do not pool all indicators or average teachers first. Round once to one decimal, with halves upward.
Drafts, demonstration records, inactive indicators and visits with no active scored evidence do not contribute to numerical means. Show coverage and non-scored conditions separately. Missing evidence is missing, never zero.
Two examples of careful interpretation.
Weighting: A visit with two ratings of 1 has mean 1.0; another with one rating of 3 has mean 3.0. Their domain mean is 2.0, with two Partially Evident decisions and one Consistently Evident decision. The mean is descriptive and has no overall category label.
Periods: September 2.5 from one eligible visit and October 1.9 from eleven eligible visits differ by −0.6. The periods may contain different teachers, lessons or indicators. The difference does not establish instructional change. Missing periods should not be plotted as zero or joined by a line.
Choose, scope, preview, share.
Retain Weekly Principal Packet and Aligned Structured Literacy Summary. Select the report, date range and scope; review name handling and a preview before export. Describe a combined report as “All selected walkthrough sections in one report.”
Revised exports should use a stable snapshot with report/rubric policy versions, record identifiers, filters, time zone, date range, contributing counts and exclusion reasons. Demonstration exports must be labeled as training material. Confirm actual file formats and columns with a release-specific sample before mapping to another system.
Replace teacher names in exports.
School-wide reports and packets should replace teacher names automatically; per-teacher reports must explain their name handling. Substituted labels are not an anonymity guarantee: review free-text evidence, coaching notes, dates and contextual details before sharing.
Student names and identifying information are not needed. Do not include imported assessment files, student rows or temporary assessment analysis in reports.
